Development, Influence, Artistic Style

Phuong Quoc Tri is one of the very talented young self- taught artists in Vietnam. With his talent and the artistic environment at home, Tri has been able to follow his burning desire to paint. He is sharing his father`s passion for expressing human emotion on a canvas and through sculptural works.

Tri`s works are almost exclusively figurative. His main themes include women of the minority tribes, nudes, women in traditional dresses and objects of daily life. He is famous for the unique portrait style.  His works always express stillness, warmth and softness. Tri's characters appear to be introvert and deep in thoughts - they invite the viewer to think, feel and connect. Our eyes are drawn to the figures and we cannot help but to give thought to them.
